The appearance of red oak and white wood is generally similar to less typical appearance due to its smaller number of rays, increased porosity and water design.
The red oak wood is hard and heavy, has a low modulus of elasticity and high compressive strength.
It is also found in the eastern US with a large spread in Southeast Canada.
Generally in many areas of Cyprus, it is preferred for the ease of its processing in frames and floors for the finish it gives.
It is also used for building, furniture, interior decoration, interior woodworking, stairs and decorative, doors and kitchen cabinets.
